BURBANK, CA (May 23, 2005) – The Good Ol’ Boys are back as Warner Home Video (WHV) releases Dukes of Hazzard: The Complete Third Season,from one of the top performing Action-Adventure TV series of all time, on May 31, 2005 at a $39.98 SRP. In anticipation of the much-awaited theatrical release, this incredible 4-disc collector’s set, complete with 23 action-packed episodes and terrific bonus features, includes interviews with original cast members along with a FREE TICKET to see Dukes of Hazzard the Movie, opening in theaters August 5, 2005. Jessica Simpson, Sean William Scott, Johnny Knoxville and Willy Nelson star in this much-anticipated remake based on the popular television series.

Welcome to Hazzard County, where cousins Bo (John Schneider), Luke (Tom Wopat) and Daisy Duke (Catherine Bach) along with their Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle) are determined to bring Hazzard County’s two biggest miscreants to justice–the irrepressible Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) and his sidekick, Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best).

The Dukes strap into their 1969 Dodge Charger, nicknamed “The General Lee,” and set off on some wild adventures fighting crime and corruption in the hills of Georgia. The Dukes of Hazzard, created by Gy Waldron, debuted in January of 1979 and was an instant success. A staple of CBS’s Friday night lineup, the show was a Top 20 CBS series for six of its seven seasons on air. Dukes held the #1 spot in its time period across those six seasons, making it one of the most popular television series of all time. The last episode aired in 1985, but The Dukes of Hazzard fan support is still strong, with hundreds of websites and products devoted to the legendary series. And the Duke Boys have never been stronger with the series’ resurgence on Country Music Television and the much-anticipated theatrical debut this summer.

A Dukes of Hazzard Three-peat!

If there’s one thing WB has been so far with the Dukes of Hazzard DVD releases, is consistent. Once again, the Complete Third Season has all 22 episodes complete and uncut. The sound is great and the picture quality is clear.

This time around we have some great extra features with John, Tom and Cathy reminiscing about their time on the show and a great On Camera commentary from the three for episode 4 In This Corner, Luke Duke. This feature is great in that in split screen we watch the episode and also watch the three actors as they watch the episode. It’s almost like sitting and watching old home movies with the cousins. Khee!

Another feature is Gy Waldron explaining the beginnings of the various characters, who they were based on and how things all came together with the casting. Although many Dukes fans have long known for years that the back story of the Dukes coming to live with Uncle Jesse was that their parents had all been killed in a car wreck, the inclusion on the DVD seems to make it all official now.

Again, the packaging is great with the graphics and photos. My personal favorite is the spread of the General in mid-flight behind the discs. Once more double sided discs are used keeping the packaging compact and affordable. Apparently season 4 will have single sided discs of which this reviewer is not really looking forward too.

Another 30 bucks well spent folks! Do yourself a favor and pick up season three if you haven’t already!
