We’re not ones to toot our own horns (well maybe sometimes, but we’re mostly a humble bunch), but HazzardNet got a small mention in today’s USA Today. Click here to see the article.

First of all…didja check out the CMT Music Awards last Monday? What a great show! And what a great sight to see the cast gathered to introduce one of the performers on the show (none other than a Dukes alum, Toby Keith).
CMT has some great pics posted at their website. Check them out!
Warner Brothers has unveiled the website for the Dukes movie.
Not much there at the moment, other than some buddy icons and wallpaper for your computer. (I’m partial to the Boss Hogg images mahself. ROFL)
Stop the presses and hold the phone. Jessica Simpson speaks about the movie…
The Dukes of Hazzard - Television Favorites. This is kind of a “Best of” type release, but obviously WB is looking to tie in as much publicity as possible with the release of the movie later this summer. One of the DVD’s even features some behind the scenes footage from the new movie along with the packaging featuring Jessica Simpson, Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott. (Thanks to the several fans who let us know of this.)

One day til taxes are due! Ack! But on to even better news…
We have photos Jimmie Best took at the CMT Music Awards. Check out our gallery! He and his wife had a blast. I’ll let him tell you all about it in his own words…
Well, if you want to have an ego boost, just walk the red carpet going into the CMT Music Awards Show. Dorothy and I had the privilege to do just that Monday night, April 11.
I don’t know how many fans lined the red carpet leading into the Gaylord Entertainment Center, I can’t count that high. Inside was controlled pandemonium, with at least fifteen thousand screaming fans. It was just breathtaking to see such a sea of smiling and cheering fans for the Dukes of Hazzard cast.
The reception for the Dukes cast when we appeared all together on the stage was, as the younger set say “Awesome!” I really believe it was even more than that. It just verified what the cast has believed all along, that the fans of the Dukes of Hazzard are loyal to the core, and just down right dedicated to bringing the show back to what it was years ago in prime time.
It is third generation now, and going as strong as ever, and that is expressed by everyone we talk to. We are so proud that we were a part of television history that brought good clean entertainment to not only our great country, but to fans old and young all around the world. I thank God everyday that I was blessed to have been a small part of creating a television classic that can never be duplicated or ruined by copy cat take offs.
We created a show that was one of a kind and hope the fans will all agree. No matter what is presented as the Dukes of Hazzard, in the future as a movie, the fans will make their own judgment as to which is right for them and their children to view. We believe the original Dukes of Hazzard will be the one that really owns Flash and the General Lee.
All My Best,
James Best
We’d also like to mention that Jimmie and his wife are currently looking for investors for a film version of his critically acclaimed play “Hell Bent For Good Times”. It is a bittersweet and sentimental tale of an old couple, John and Ada, living in the Depression era South and struggling to raise their teenage grandchildren. The drama and comedy of this play could best be compared to the likes of On Golden Pond. Filming ”Hell Bent For Good Times” has long been a dream of his. If you are interested in investing, please visit Jimmie’s site for more information.

Ok, who all watched the CMT Music Awards last night? Wasn’t it great to see the cast back together again?! I think I agree with Jeff Foxworthy’s sentiment that you shouldn’t mess with the classics, but that’s just me. =)

Well, some people have all the luck. AintitCool.com recently had a first hand witness to the rough cut of the Dukes movie trailer. After we were all essentially lied to about seeing the trailer during the SuperBowl, Dukes fans near and far have been anxiously awaiting the trailer and for the PR and advertising for the movie to get underway.
So we’re an impatient bunch. LOL
The release date of the film, meanwhile, is being bounced around like a bad game of ping pong. Initially it was thought to be July 29th….then June 24th….now we’re hearing August 5th. If any y’all out there work for Warner Bros., can I (MaryAnne) just say something?
FOR GOD’S SAKE!! YOU’RE KILLING US!!! PLEASE PICK A DATE AND STICK WITH IT!!!
*Ahem* Excuse me there, didn’t mean to scream. ROFL
Anyway! Check out the link below with a few snaps from the trailer!
We’ve added a Cast Appearances page for those of you who’d like to go out and meet your favorite Dukes of Hazzard actor. If any of you have info on a cast appearance not listed on the site, please contact us.
We’ve also archived old news from early March and before.
